Since the fall of 2000, it has been the mission of the Baconton Community Charter School to provide a safe, nurturing environment for a diverse community of learners to develop academic potential and ethical character leading to productive citizenship in the 21st century. With more than 900 students and over 125 employees, BCCS serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. The school's focus on academic achievement is balanced with an array of interscholastic athletics and extra-curricular clubs. BCCS operates under the authority of the State Charter Schools Commission. During our current charter term, our mission-specific goals include providing opportunities to increase students' knowledge, mindsets, and skills of citizenship, including topics such as rights & responsibilities, decision making, and personal accountability and for students to participate in volunteer activities and/or projects that enhance the welfare of others, while developing students’ empathy for the disadvantaged and marginalized.
