Our Mission

“To provide a safe, nurturing atmosphere in which to guide a diverse student body in the development of character and academic potential through a rigorous, content-rich, hands-on curriculum and on-going character enrichment that leads to an understanding of virtuous behavior and civic responsibility.  High standards of teaching, study, and conduct are central to the mission of the Baconton Community Charter School—standards that will lead to academic excellence and strong moral fiber.  Parental involvement is critical to the Baconton Community Charter School mission.

School Profile

    A small community
    charter school with
    emphasis on the basics
    using Direct Instruction
    (Siegfried Engelmann—
    SRA Reading Mastery
    and  Saxon math. Flexible
    class sizes and a gifted
    and talented program
    allow for more individualized
    academics. Because the school
    founders understood that
    parental involvement is a key
    factor in academic success,
    parents must contribute at
    least 20 hours of volunteer
    time per semester.  To meet
    this requirement, parents
    have contributed many kinds
    of service, including thorough
    cleaning of the facility,
    assisting in the classroom,
    fundraising, and light
    construction. In addition,
    there is an active grandparents’
    club that sponsors events,
    raises funds, and manages
    special projects!
